The Director
I fell that I could take the role of Director, because I feel like i'd be able to talk to people about where to be and I would make sure people knew what they were doing. However I don't think i'd be comfortable doing it. I don't like the idea of telling people what to do. I feel that i could get stressed out by it quite a lot. So it's not the most ideal role
First Assistant Director (1st AD)
I don't think I'd be very good for this role. I think I could work well with the Director, if we worked together but at the same time I feel like I might not be able to talk as much with the Director, as I'd be too shy. I think I'd mostly just be there to say yes or no to what the director wants to do. I can plan for myself and keep myself up to date, but I feel like I plan differently to others and they might not understand what I'm trying to do.
Cinematographer
I feel I could suit the role of cinematographer. I can come up with ideas and I try to listen to others ideas. I normally have a sense of how I want a shot to look. My only problem with this role is, I'd again feel like I wouldn't be able to convey my ideas that well.
Camera Operator
I think camera operator would be my chosen role. I enjoy filming and know how to use the cameras. I'm eager to try different filters and shots. Like I said before I can't communicate to well. But I can understand when someone suggest I try something different and I don't mind someone telling me how they want it to be filmed. I can also add my own input form time to time about how it should be shot. I've also filmed in free time to test shots and get used to the cameras.
Gaffer
I think I could take the role of gaffer. I've worked with lighting before in theatre. I understand about how necessary lighting is, and how it need to be. I can communicate well with team mates. I can tell them how I think the scene should be lit and then listen to how they think it should be lit. The main thing I was saying about problems with communication before was that I don't feel comfortable controlling people and telling them what to do, but if we mix ideas and communicate back and forth, I can work with that.
Sound Recordist
I could take the role of sound recordist. I've recorded sound before and I understand how the equipment works. I am quite new at it though, but I could get some experience doing it. I think I would enjoy recording sound, and I could communicate with the camera man.
Art Director
I don't think I'd suit this role very well at all. I'm not too good at drawing. I can draw basic scenes. But I can't go into to much detail. Also wouldn't feel too comfortable telling people what to do when I barely know myself.
Prosthetics Director
I fell that I know next to nothing about prosthetics. I don't think I'd suit this role at all.
Data wrangler/Assistant editor
I think I would suit this role quite well. I do editing in my own time and I enjoy it. I also don't mind finishing off bits in my own time. I'm usually quite good with talking to the camera operator and Director and working out how they want the film to look.
Clapper/Continuity Editor
I think I could do this role but it doesn't intrigue me as much.
Order of which roles I'd like to fulfill
1. Editor/Camera Operator
2. Sound Recordist
3. Gaffer
4. Cinematographer
5. Clapper
6. The Director
7. 1st AD
8. Art Director
9. Prosthetics Director.
